TRANSFIGURED – TRANSFORMED

Transfiguration is a bit more that transformation. It is a complete change of form or appearance into a more beautiful or spiritual state. Christ’s appeared in radiant glory to three of his disciples (Matthew 17:2 and Mark 9:2–3). Transformation, is a marked change in form, nature, or appearance. Both, in God are exciting. Robyn Baxter shared the joy of her grandson when encouraged and acknowledged for his courage and perseverance in quietly doing what was needed to be done. He was transformed, a lasting impact on his life. He embraced it and accepted it. Jesus Christ has done the same for each of us. Peter, James and John were awestruck when Christ was transfigured with Moses (the law) and Elijah (the prophets). They were terrified when covered with a bright cloud and God spoke; “This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased. LISTEN TO HIM”. God also expressed His admiration for Jesus at His baptism as recorded in Matthew 3:17, “a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” When Moses was in the presence of God, he was transformed with a radiant face. Moses, the law giver, went on to prophesy in Deuteronomy 18:15; “The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. YOU MUST LISTEN TO HIM”. Peter, James and John were told not to speak about what they had witnessed until after the resurrection, because things were not clear to them. But we know what happened, because of their eye witness testimony. The transformation for Peter, James and John came on the Day of Pentecost. Transformation comes for us daily when we set time aside and come into the presence of God. Listen to Him, and be transformed by His encouraging word. Experience the radiance the Holy Spirit will give. Have the glory of God in your life, not just when you sing a song of praise, or read inspiration from His word, but through God’s transforming power to overcome daily stuff. The Holy Spirit will give you the power to be transformed, bringing healing, release from bondages, and through the shed blood of Jesus Christ forgiveness and cleansing from all unrighteousness. God’s power will get us through. Draw closer to God, and He will draw closer to you. God helps us get through the tough things of life. Let God. Are you going to let God transform you with His transforming power? Do it now. “For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ”. (2 Corinthians 4:6).
