F5 Weekly Update 14th November 2019

On Sunday night Robyn began her sermon asking us if we had Heaven in our Hearts. She talked about Jesus trek towards Jerusalem in Luke 19 and 20, including the 2 disciples who were summoned to fine the donkey, the entry to the Mount of Olives where the crowds praised God and called out ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord’. As Jesus entered Jerusalem he wept over the city.

As Jesus taught each day in the temple the chief priests, teachers of the law and leaders of the city plotted to kill Jesus. They finally sent the Sadducees, who did not believe in the resurrection, to ask Jesus a tricky question about the resurrection. Jesus answered them with a verse from Exodus 3 and then a picture of what heaven (our resurrection) will be like. Robyn then talked about heaven, where there will be no more death, no sickness or sadness and families will be different as we will all be brothers and sisters of Jesus.

Some quotes used:

Joni Earekson Tada ‘ I have hope for the future. The Bible speaks about our bodies being glorified. I know the meaning of that now. It’s the time when I, the quadriplegic, will be on my fet dancing and painfree.’ Martin Luther:

‘I live as though Jesus Christ had been crucified yesterday, had risen this morning and is coming again tomorrow’. Robyn concluded with asking us again, if we have Heaven in our Hearts.
